Shannon Crumbacker

LIVING Kidney DONOR NEEDED

Please help someone in need!

Hello, my name is Shannon. I’m 44 years old and was diagnosed with kidney disease roughly 5 years ago which eventually landed me in kidney failure about a year and a half ago. I started my journey in a dialysis center which became very hard to manage. I am very passionate about my family and career. I have 3 children and 3 grandchildren who I love with every breath in me. It’s incredibly important being able to spend time with them all and with doing dialysis at home still doesn’t give me enough time.

Having this disease has slowed me down tremendously. I am a package car driver for UPS and I work 5 days a week. I start my day off with work, after work I drive roughly an hour back home to set up and do dialysis. My treatment are 4-5 days a week for 3 1/2 hours at a time. The energy level I used to have is gone. Everything looks different nowadays I would pick my grandchildren up and they would stay with me some days but I’m exhausted most of the time and don’t get that time with them. Foods I used to love eating are no longer in my diet. Dinners on the weekends with my family no longer exist. I don’t have the freedom to do anything I love.

I lost my dear mother a year ago to cancer which was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to endure. She would pray daily for me to get a kidney. I made a promise to her that I would never give up and stay positive. I know by me getting a kidney would have made her extremely happy. I’d love to live a longer much enjoyable life with my growing family.

I’d like to finish by saying i am looking for a living donor who is willing to give me a second chance at enjoying life and gaining the freedom and confidence I used to have. To be able to live a longer much healthier life. If anyone is interested you can start the donor process confidentially. Please also help by sharing my story so more people see it and it will continue to be shared. Thank you for reading my story and possibly helping gain my life back.
