I am a wife, a biological mother to one, and a bonus mom to three incredible kids. Life took a challenging turn when I became legally blind and faced multiple health issues, including congestive heart failure. My journey has been further complicated by the need for a kidney transplant after my first one failed due to antibody rejection, a setback that stemmed from contracting COVID-19 in 2022. Since then, my health has been a struggle, leaving me on dialysis, a treatment I absolutely despise for the weakness and sickness it brings.
Despite these challenges, my love for my family fuels my determination to fight. I want to be there for my kids, to live fully, and to accomplish all the things I dream of. To combat my own feelings of depression and to help others facing similar battles, I founded a kidney awareness foundation. This initiative not only aids those fighting kidney disease but also provides me with a sense of purpose and hope.
Every day, I strive to stay positive, advocating for awareness and support in the kidney community. I believe in the power of resilience and the importance of fighting for life, not just for myself but for my family. There's still so much more I want to do, and I’m committed to making a difference in the lives of others while I continue on my own path to health and happiness.
I’ve been on dialysis for 7 momths and I go every Mon, Wed, and Fri, for 3.5 hours!
I transplant would mean that I would have my quality of life back. Right now, there isn’t much I can do.
