Hello,
My name is Anthony Johnson, and I am hoping to find a kidney donor. I am 64 years old, happily married for 23 years and counting, father to 2 sons and 3 daughters, as well as a granddad to 8. My youngest son, Tyrone, was on dialysis for the past two years, very recently passed away due to complications of renal failure.
I have been dealing with kidney issues almost my entire life. I was born premature and for as long as I can remember I have had blood in my urine and never receiving a clear diagnosis as to the cause of this. In October 2024, I experienced total renal failure and began my journey with dialysis. My life now consists of dialysis three times a week, four hours each visit and frequent doctor appointments. I have always been very active in the gym, but now I am reduced to three days a week because I no longer have the energy to work-out on dialysis days as it takes most of my energy and stamina. After dialysis I sleep most of the time.
My wife just retired after working for 34 years and we have been looking forward to this time so we could travel and do all the things we have been putting off until retirement. I'm also, hoping for more time to spend with my grandkids.
I am on the waiting list for a kidney but there are so many who are also in need of one that it can often take years to get a match. I am doing everything I can to stay healthy enough to be considered for a transplant. I am hoping to find a living donor in order to benefit my health and improve my quality of life. I would be grateful if you could help me find a match by getting tested or sharing this information with your own network of friends, family and community.
